In 2005 I began my degree in Multimedia Deisgn at Northumbria University; graduating with a 2:1 BA (hons) in 2008.
Multimedia design; involving web and graphic design, research design projects, advertisement and promotion design has allowed me to expand my knowledge of many different software packages. I have developed skills using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Macromedia Fireworks and Sony Vegas. Following on from university I have gained full knowledge of CSS, which I have used to create this site.
I developed a questionnaire which categorised the user into one of six fashion/trend groups; Gothic, Mainstream, Punk, Skater, Sporty and Emo. I then gave each group a relevant title some of which were a combination of 2 words: Mystic, Rage, Morock, Stoked, Dynamic and Musotion. I developed an online magazine which was designed around the answers gave in the questionnaire; Users then subscribe to a their interactive fashion and entertainment magazine.
I decided to write my dissertation on 'Fashion E-tailing Vs Fashion Retailing.'
I used a mixture of primary and secondary data thought my dissertation and I also included a case
study on a book I read over the summer; Boo Hoo: A dot.com story. I enjoyed writing this
dissertation as I found the subject very interesting.
Overall I feel the final piece analysed the subject matter very well and produced a well rounded result.
